# AI Office vs Word Documents

The clearest difference is ads: AI Office at none against Word Documents's shown. AI Office also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 8 months) and review sentiment (36% vs 20%). Word Documents's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AI Office sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Word Documents sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Documents holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 383 and 147 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of AI Office's written reviews are positive against 20% of Word Documents's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AI Office ships an update every 2 weeks, Word Documents every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
