# Cretapedia vs Hive

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hive at 100% against Cretapedia's 43%. Hive also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). Cretapedia's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cretapedia sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month and Hive sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cretapedia holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cretapedia has 1.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Cretapedia's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cretapedia ships an update monthly, Hive every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
