# Cretapedia vs ChomChom

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ChomChom at 100% against Cretapedia's 43%. ChomChom also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Cretapedia's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cretapedia sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month and ChomChom sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChomChom holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cretapedia has 1.7K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 43% of Cretapedia's written reviews are positive against 100% of ChomChom's.

Cretapedia ships an update monthly, ChomChom every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
