# Ms Holmes 4 vs Unsolved Case

The clearest difference is ads: Ms Holmes 4 at none against Unsolved Case's shown. Ms Holmes 4 also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 33%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). Unsolved Case's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ms Holmes 4 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Unsolved Case sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unsolved Case holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Unsolved Case has 100 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Ms Holmes 4's written reviews are positive against 33% of Unsolved Case's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ms Holmes 4 ships an update every 9 months, Unsolved Case every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
