# TextRefiner vs Tappa Keyboard

The clearest difference is rating: Tappa Keyboard at 4.0 against TextRefiner's 3.0. Tappa Keyboard also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (28 vs 2). TextRefiner's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 60%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tappa Keyboard holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tappa Keyboard has 28 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of TextRefiner's written reviews are positive against 60% of Tappa Keyboard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TextRefiner ships an update every 11 months, Tappa Keyboard every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
