# BookTalk vs Bindery Books

The clearest difference is rating: Bindery Books at 5.0 against BookTalk's 4.0. Bindery Books also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). BookTalk's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bindery Books holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bindery Books has 34 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

BookTalk ships an update every 5 weeks, Bindery Books every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
