# Shot Pattern vs Perch

The clearest difference is monetization model: Shot Pattern at free with in-app purchases against Perch's subscription. Shot Pattern also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 6) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Perch's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shot Pattern sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and Perch sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shot Pattern holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shot Pattern has 2.1K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Shot Pattern's written reviews are positive against 100% of Perch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
