# COLDEST vs Modern Gents

The clearest difference is ads: Modern Gents at none against COLDEST's shown. Modern Gents also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). COLDEST's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 18). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for COLDEST against 4.8 for Modern Gents. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: COLDEST has 2.2K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of COLDEST's written reviews are positive against 92% of Modern Gents's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
