# COLDEST vs Hotel Collection

COLDEST and Hotel Collection both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 94% of COLDEST's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hotel Collection's. COLDEST also leads on ratings volume (2.2K vs 88). Hotel Collection's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for COLDEST against 4.7 for Hotel Collection. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: COLDEST has 2.2K ratings behind it against 88, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of COLDEST's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hotel Collection's.

COLDEST ships an update every 3 weeks, Hotel Collection every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
