# COLDEST vs AFY

The clearest difference is ads: AFY at none against COLDEST's shown. AFY also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). COLDEST's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AFY holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: COLDEST has 2.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 95% of COLDEST's written reviews are positive against 100% of AFY's.

COLDEST ships an update every 3 weeks, AFY every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
