# Notepad vs Sync

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sync at none against Notepad's 1. Sync also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 11 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sync asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notepad ships an update every 11 months, Sync fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
