# Gallery Lock vs App Lock

The clearest difference is ads: App Lock at none against Gallery Lock's shown. Gallery Lock's advantage is ratings volume (1.9K vs 7) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gallery Lock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and App Lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gallery Lock holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gallery Lock has 1.9K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Gallery Lock ships an update every 5 weeks, App Lock monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
