# Speed Reader vs SplitPass

The clearest difference is update cadence: SplitPass at every 3 weeks against Speed Reader's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Reader sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and SplitPass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speed Reader ships an update every 2 months, SplitPass every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
