# Coverage Map vs WatchSpeed

The clearest difference is ads: WatchSpeed at none against Coverage Map's shown. WatchSpeed also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Coverage Map's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (798 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WatchSpeed holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coverage Map has 798 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Coverage Map ships an update fortnightly, WatchSpeed every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
