# Riptide vs The ToolBox

The clearest difference is monetization model: Riptide at free against The ToolBox's free with in-app purchases. Riptide also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.4). The ToolBox's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Riptide ships an update every 6 weeks, The ToolBox every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
