# SubGuard vs StarReel

The clearest difference is rating: SubGuard at 4.6 against StarReel's 1.6. SubGuard also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 28) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). StarReel's advantage is review sentiment (11% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StarReel sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $9.90 per 7 days. SubGuard asks for nothing beyond the download.

SubGuard holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of SubGuard's written reviews are positive against 11% of StarReel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
