# Novellair vs Between Covers

The clearest difference is rating: Between Covers at 5.0 against Novellair's 4.2. Between Covers also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). Novellair's advantage is ratings volume (2.8K vs 1) and chart position (#41 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Novellair sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Between Covers sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Between Covers holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Novellair has 2.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Novellair ships an update fortnightly, Between Covers every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
