# Squashet vs Video Compressor

The clearest difference is update cadence: Video Compressor at every 6 weeks against Squashet's every 9 months. Video Compressor also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Squashet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Video Compressor sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Squashet ships an update every 9 months, Video Compressor every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
