# Squashet vs Video Compress

The clearest difference is ads: Squashet at none against Video Compress's shown. Video Compress's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Squashet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Video Compress sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Squashet ships an update every 9 months, Video Compress every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
