# SoundType AI vs Instant Transcript

The clearest difference is ratings volume: SoundType AI at 322 against Instant Transcript's 2. SoundType AI also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14 vs 26.0). Instant Transcript's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoundType AI sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Instant Transcript sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Instant Transcript holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SoundType AI has 322 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
