# App Lock vs Thryver

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Thryver at 100% against App Lock's 58%. Thryver also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). App Lock's advantage is ratings volume (5.2K vs 20). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Thryver sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thryver holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Lock has 5.2K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of App Lock's written reviews are positive against 100% of Thryver's.

App Lock ships an update fortnightly, Thryver every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
