# Solid Calendar vs Alarm Reminders

The clearest difference is monetization model: Alarm Reminders at free against Solid Calendar's paid. Solid Calendar's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (119 vs 26). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solid Calendar sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Alarm Reminders sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solid Calendar holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 119 and 26 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Solid Calendar's written reviews are positive against 83% of Alarm Reminders's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solid Calendar ships an update fortnightly, Alarm Reminders every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
