# Microsoft Designer vs AI Generator

The clearest difference is ads: Microsoft Designer at none against AI Generator's shown. AI Generator's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 557) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Microsoft Designer sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and AI Generator sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Microsoft Designer against 4.6 for AI Generator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Generator has 13K ratings behind it against 557, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Microsoft Designer's written reviews are positive against 69% of AI Generator's.

Microsoft Designer ships an update every 3 weeks, AI Generator every 8 days. Both last shipped on November 4, 2026.
