# Praise vs Self

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Praise at none against Self's 4. Self's advantage is ratings volume (24 vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Self sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Praise asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Praise against 4.6 for Self. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Self has 24 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Praise ships an update every 7 months, Self every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
