# Language Diary vs AITalk

The clearest difference is rating: Language Diary at 4.4 against AITalk's 3.7. Language Diary also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days) and ratings volume (27 vs 3). AITalk's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Language Diary sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and AITalk sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Language Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Language Diary has 27 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Language Diary's written reviews are positive against 100% of AITalk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Language Diary ships an update every 3 days, AITalk every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
