# VPN Ninja vs Secure VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Secure VPN at 5.0 against VPN Ninja's 4.3. VPN Ninja's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (83% vs 55%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Ninja sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.09 per 7 days and Secure VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secure VPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN Ninja has 29 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of VPN Ninja's written reviews are positive against 55% of Secure VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN Ninja ships an update every 9 days, Secure VPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
