# MyESX vs APS Control

The clearest difference is update cadence: MyESX at every 3 weeks against APS Control's every 12 months. MyESX also leads on ratings volume (48 vs 1). APS Control's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

APS Control holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyESX has 48 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MyESX ships an update every 3 weeks, APS Control every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
