# Openchat vs Vivid Art

The clearest difference is ads: Vivid Art at none against Openchat's shown. Vivid Art also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 81%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Openchat's advantage is ratings volume (4.6K vs 6) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Openchat sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Vivid Art sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Openchat holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Openchat has 4.6K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Openchat's written reviews are positive against 100% of Vivid Art's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Openchat ships an update every 3 weeks, Vivid Art weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
