# M vs Dova Chat

The clearest difference is rating: Dova Chat at 5.0 against M's 4.4. Dova Chat also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 38%). M's advantage is ratings volume (309 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. M sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Dova Chat sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dova Chat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: M has 309 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of M's written reviews are positive against 50% of Dova Chat's.

M ships an update monthly, Dova Chat every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
