# The Wildfire Tracker vs Prodigy Wildfire

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Prodigy Wildfire at 100% against The Wildfire Tracker's 42%. Prodigy Wildfire also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 16). The Wildfire Tracker's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Wildfire Tracker sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Prodigy Wildfire asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Wildfire Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Wildfire Tracker has 173 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of The Wildfire Tracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of Prodigy Wildfire's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Wildfire Tracker ships an update fortnightly, Prodigy Wildfire every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
