# ButterDocs vs Highland Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ButterDocs at 100% against Highland Pro's 46%. ButterDocs also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). Highland Pro's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Highland Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. ButterDocs asks for nothing beyond the download.

Highland Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Highland Pro has 21 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of ButterDocs's written reviews are positive against 46% of Highland Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ButterDocs ships an update every 3 months, Highland Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
