# Scribd vs VisualMind

The clearest difference is rating: VisualMind at 4.5 against Scribd's 2.8. VisualMind also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 275). Scribd's advantage is chart position (#133 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scribd sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and VisualMind sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VisualMind holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VisualMind has 3.3K ratings behind it against 275, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 14% of Scribd's written reviews are positive against 23% of VisualMind's.

Scribd ships an update fortnightly, VisualMind every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
