# HG Cam vs Safeview

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Safeview at 85% against HG Cam's 20%. Safeview also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.2) and ads (none vs shown). HG Cam's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HG Cam sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Safeview sells 25 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Safeview holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Safeview has 805 ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of HG Cam's written reviews are positive against 85% of Safeview's.

HG Cam ships an update every 3 weeks, Safeview every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
