# Life log vs Chat Journal

The clearest difference is ads: Chat Journal at none against Life log's shown. Life log's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Life log sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Chat Journal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Life log ships an update monthly, Chat Journal every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
