# Secure VPN ・ Private Internet vs 9D VPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Secure VPN ・ Private Internet at 92% against 9D VPN's 44%. Secure VPN ・ Private Internet also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). 9D VPN's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (530 vs 30). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure VPN ・ Private Internet sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and 9D VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

9D VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 9D VPN has 530 ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Secure VPN ・ Private Internet's written reviews are positive against 44% of 9D VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secure VPN ・ Private Internet ships an update every 10 days, 9D VPN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
