# Throne vs Famd

The clearest difference is monetization model: Famd at free against Throne's free with in-app purchases. Famd also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days). Throne's advantage is ratings volume (8.2K vs 1) and chart position (#153 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Famd holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Throne has 8.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Throne ships an update every 9 days, Famd every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
