# Criterion Ticketing vs Broadway Direct

The clearest difference is rating: Criterion Ticketing at 4.9 against Broadway Direct's 4.0. Criterion Ticketing also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Broadway Direct's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 0%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Criterion Ticketing holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Criterion Ticketing has 198 ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Criterion Ticketing's written reviews are positive against 25% of Broadway Direct's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Criterion Ticketing ships an update fortnightly, Broadway Direct every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
