# Arlington Transportation vs RideDCTA

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RideDCTA at 50% against Arlington Transportation's 22%. RideDCTA also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Arlington Transportation's advantage is ratings volume (2.3K vs 6) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Arlington Transportation holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Arlington Transportation has 2.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Arlington Transportation's written reviews are positive against 50% of RideDCTA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Arlington Transportation ships an update monthly, RideDCTA every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
