# Straight Arrow | SAN vs Snopes

The clearest difference is monetization model: Straight Arrow | SAN at free against Snopes's free with in-app purchases. Straight Arrow | SAN also leads on ratings volume (9.9K vs 864). Snopes's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Straight Arrow | SAN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.95 per month and Snopes sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Straight Arrow | SAN against 4.8 for Snopes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Straight Arrow | SAN has 9.9K ratings behind it against 864, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of Straight Arrow | SAN's written reviews are positive against 72% of Snopes's.

Straight Arrow | SAN ships an update fortnightly, Snopes every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
