# Chick vs Ephemerality

The clearest difference is rating: Ephemerality at 5.0 against Chick's 4.2. Chick's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ephemerality holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chick has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Chick ships an update every 3 weeks, Ephemerality every 8 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
