# QR Code vs QR8

The clearest difference is ads: QR8 at none against QR Code's shown. QR Code's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Code sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and QR8 sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QR Code ships an update every 2 weeks, QR8 monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
