# Intimate vs Ruby Chat

The clearest difference is ads: Intimate at none against Ruby Chat's shown. Intimate also leads on ratings volume (4.6K vs 320) and chart position (#180 vs unranked). Ruby Chat's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Intimate sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Ruby Chat sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ruby Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Intimate has 4.6K ratings behind it against 320, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Intimate's written reviews are positive against 56% of Ruby Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Intimate ships an update every 3 weeks, Ruby Chat every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
