# Digital Notebook vs REA

The clearest difference is ads: REA at none against Digital Notebook's shown. REA also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Notebook sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and REA sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Digital Notebook ships an update every 6 weeks, REA every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
