# Flip Clock vs LateStart

The clearest difference is update cadence: LateStart at weekly against Flip Clock's every 2 months. LateStart also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Flip Clock's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (21 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LateStart holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flip Clock has 21 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Flip Clock ships an update every 2 months, LateStart weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
