# Shared AI vs AI Chat

The clearest difference is update cadence: AI Chat at every 3 weeks against Shared AI's every 3 months. Shared AI's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shared AI ships an update every 3 months, AI Chat every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
