Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Brushes for Procreate & Fonts at free with in-app purchases against Brushes by Artcoast's subscription. Brushes for Procreate & Fonts also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Brushes by Artcoast's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (74% vs 39%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Brushes for Procreate & Fonts sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Brushes by Artcoast sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Brushes for Procreate & Fonts holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushes by Artcoast has 551 ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Brushes for Procreate & Fonts's written reviews are positive against 74% of Brushes by Artcoast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Brushes for Procreate & Fonts ships an update every 10 days, Brushes by Artcoast weekly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
