# Bear vs Timesheet

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bear at free with in-app purchases against Timesheet's subscription. Timesheet's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bear sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Timesheet sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Timesheet holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 50 and 104 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Bear's written reviews are positive against 58% of Timesheet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bear ships an update fortnightly, Timesheet weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
