# Block Apps vs LockMe

The clearest difference is monetization model: Block Apps at freemium against LockMe's subscription. Block Apps also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 47%). LockMe's advantage is ratings volume (229 vs 18) and iOS requirement (16.2 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block Apps sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.00 per month and LockMe sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LockMe holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LockMe has 229 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Block Apps's written reviews are positive against 47% of LockMe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Block Apps ships an update every 5 weeks, LockMe every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
