# Chat PLUS vs SmartType AI Keyboard Writer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chat PLUS at 100% against SmartType AI Keyboard Writer's 50%. Chat PLUS also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). SmartType AI Keyboard Writer's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (18 vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chat PLUS sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and SmartType AI Keyboard Writer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SmartType AI Keyboard Writer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Chat PLUS's written reviews are positive against 50% of SmartType AI Keyboard Writer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chat PLUS ships an update every 3 weeks, SmartType AI Keyboard Writer every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
