# Plug AI vs Mellow

The clearest difference is monetization model: Mellow at freemium against Plug AI's subscription. Plug AI's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (16K vs 16). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plug AI sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Mellow sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Plug AI against 4.7 for Mellow. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plug AI has 16K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Plug AI ships an update weekly, Mellow every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
